The schools of the NHRCES are accredited by the Middle States Association Commissions on Elementary and Secondary Schools (MSA). The MSA accreditation process helps schools, and essentially students, continously grow and improve. Every seven years, the administrators, faculty, staff, students and parents within the regional schools begin the process to reapply for accreditation. This accreditation allows school leaders to work with faculty, staff and the school community to identify areas of improvement, set goals and make a plan to reach those goals. MSA also assists in developing strategic plans for growth for faculty, staff and student achievement.
The NHRCES faculty, staff and school communities prepared for over two years for the MSA meetings that took place in early December 2021. The meetings consisted of an assigned Chair from MSA who visited each school along with the regional office, in-person, and evaluated everything from building leases, insurance, curriculum, safety protocols, advancement/fundraising strategies, etc. Following those meetings, a team of MSA professionals met with administrators, board members, principals, teachers, students and parents virtually for three days reviewing everything from system planning, student support, technology, student programs, curriculum, and the regional advisory council. They conducted interviews, virtual tours of the schools along with student, teacher and parent focus groups. At the end of the two week evaluation, a report was generated offering recommendations to the region and the schools on improvement and development and the NHRCES was awarded the Middle States Accreditation.
